This group will include:
• Scheduling and developing ongoing education opportunities for membership and the community
• Teaching classes in the community and other agencies as well as facilitating in-house training, dialogues and discussions.
• Organizing local meetings, bringing in guest speakers, coordinating membership involvement in local and national events, protests and other activities as requested by allied organizations.

• Actions to interrupt the school to prison pipeline
• Work on restorative practices for schools
• Education for teachers, PTAs and other organizations
• Work with the Education Group to set up teaching opportunities

POLICY/LEGISLATION

This group will include:
• Coordinate alongside allies for policy and legislation efforts.
• Assist with legal aid to help keep us all out of jail, and when needed, bail members out of jail and/or represent SURJ NCSD in court.
• Confer on local laws and statutes.
• Courtroom presence, witnesses, and monitoring.
• Research, attending city council meetings, writing letters and emails, phone banking etc.

• Monitoring and posting on social media accounts
• Commenting on and monitoring allied accounts for updates
• Posting events for SURJ NCSD and allied groups and updates to social media.
• Creating original designs, writing, copy-writing and editing for signage, flyers, newsletters, social media graphics, PowerPoint presentations, meme’s
• Photography, videography, video production and editing, etc.
• Promote and publicly representing SURJ NCSD in media (Write blogs, letters to the editor, Op Ed pieces for publication and press releases)
• Handle media interviews and press conferences.
